We had the simulator at Oshkosh 2007. Several pilots were trained to hover during the 5 day event.

The instructor station has three screens that show: on left Map and control (fail equipment and or change weather and time of day) Middle Screen is duplicate of instrument panel inside of simulator and the right screen is a duplicate of the center projector screen

This shows that the instructor may "setup the student" with the push of only one button (upper left) a pre-selected ILS approach to any runway at the correct altitude and at 3 or 10 miles out. This makes repeating an approach very easy and fast
